Facia panels

Okay, I know this has been mentioned by others than me as well, so we should probably have a thread about it.

Is there anywhere that will ship at reasonable cost to the UK, that can supply replacement facia panels for the factory-fit radio section ?

The panel itself seems to go from the air-conditioning controls upwards, and possibly even contains the vents ?!?

(I don't have my Jazz yet, so can't take pictures)

There is obviously one replacement, as there is a version for the sat-nav, but I know in Asia they have a 2-DIN (or 1-DIN + storage) version for aftermarket radios).

I've been in touch with Honda, and they don't want any of it.

Thoughts, suggestions, etc - please post.

(Me personally, I won't need one for a couple of months yet)

Michael

They're not having any of it? Damn, I wanted to go ask Honda whether the same sat-nav audio panel was the same used for the 2Din one, because from the pictures it does look like it.

How much would it cost for you to get and ship the panel to UK?

Also, on the panel, is it the AC version? Cos I seen on some of the pictures where the temperature is the left dial and the mode is on the right.

Mine has the temperature dial on the right, with the mode (window, blowing towards your feet etc) on the left

This is the kit required for the PRE '05 facelifted jazz. Post '05 facelift has grey dials plus some other colour changes.

How much for these parts from Malaysia to Australia?

Diagrams on removing existing facia. Now I just need the new double DIN replacement.

Pinouts for the back of the factory stereo. '05 facelift model I think?

You can wire up your own aux out as you can see. eg. creat your own ipod interface.

My Jazz is the GD5.

The dials on that console look exactly the same as the one I have currently.

This is the 2005 face lifted Jazz that went on sale late '04 in Oz. Note the different stereo, silver instead of black dials and the different coloured grey/black around the stereo than on the pre facelift model.

This is the same model with automatic a/c - climate control not available in Australia.

I suppose that is in line with the 95 pounds they charge in the UK.

I'm so fed up with the lack of availablity in Australia I've made arrangements to import them directly and will be selling them for around US$100. Even with shipping from Australia I would be able to supply the UK and the Philippines for considerably less than their inflated local prices. My 1st sample arrives in 2 weeks and provided its ok the 1st shipment will be a few weeks after that.

Got my double DIN panel and metal brackets yesterday. Perfect colour match. Its a sizable chunk of plastic and metal.

They had 2 colours available bluish grey and darker grey. I got the later. Generally the lighter colour fits the dsi models and the darker colour the vtecs but depends on your cars individual trim.

Have heard you can get an aftermarket facia but haven't been able to find it anywhere. I'm sure they'll be plentiful once the Jazz goes on sale in the US if the US model gets the dreaded integrated stereo.

The list price according to Honda UK website is 95 pounds and it is available from any Honda dealer over there. Its sold there as part of the Sat Nav option.

In countries where there is no sat nav option the part is just not available from Honda. eg. Australia and New Zealand

Had to get mine from Thailand. Got to love that Australian-Thai Free Trade Agreement.
