Welcome to FitFreak!
There are a few people that have done K swaps. One guy in a BOM Fit has a supercharged K20 - really fast!

If you plan on driving the Fit mainly in the city, I'd go for the MT, as it will get better gas mileage and be more fun. But the AT gets better fuel economy on the highway than the MT gets, so if you will primarily be driving on the highway, I'd recommend the AT.

The new Fits came out today. Many dealers have one you can test drive. Thanks for the photos of the BOMs - who owns the other one?

Welcome to the Fit World!

I own a "08 Fit Sport MT and test drove the AT and MT before deciding. Personally I feel the MT is the way to go with the 2008 model. The AT seemed to be searching for the best gear to often - especially on the freeway. The fun factor with the MT soars in comparison as well!

I can't speak for the 2009 model since I haven't test drove either the AT or the MT.
