Honda Fit 2007 Tail Light Cover Replacement
I got into a minor accident and my tail light cover on the passenger side broke, but the lights are still working. I just bought a new cover for a good price, but I have no idea how to replace it. Help?

There's an access panel in the cargo area that you have to pry off with a small flathead screwdriver.
Then remove the two or three small nuts that hold the tail light assembly to the rear of the car.
The nuts might be 10mm or 8mm, I'm not sure.
Good luck

Myorangefit,
When my friend's Fit got rear-ended, we ended up just replacing the entire tail light assembly as opposed to just the cover. Therefore, this procedure documents how to replace the tail light assembly (you may have to follow it even if you're just replacing the cover):
1) Remove the rear bumper as follows:
2) Open the tailgate and remove the maintenance lid.
3) Disconnect the connectors (A) from the taillight (B).
4) Remove the mounting nuts and the screw, then remove the taillight.
To Install:
1) Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure, noting the following:

1) Remove the rear bumper as follows:
- Remove the clips, screws, and bolts securing the rear bumper.
- Pull on the rear bumper at the wheel arch areas to release it from the hooks on the side spacers.
- With the help of an assistant, pull the wheel arch portion away from the side spacer while pulling the rear bumper to release the bumper from the hooks on the side bracket.
- With the help of an assistant, pull the rear bumper to release the bumper from the hooks on the upper brackets.
2) Open the tailgate and remove the maintenance lid.
3) Disconnect the connectors (A) from the taillight (B).
4) Remove the mounting nuts and the screw, then remove the taillight.
To Install:
1) Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure, noting the following:
- When installing the taillight, check the gasket; if it is distorted or stays compressed, replace it.
- After installing the taillight, run water over the taillight to make sure they do not leak.
- Install the bumper in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Make sure the rear bumper engages the hooks (of both the side bracket and side spacers) on each side securely.
- Check for damaged or stress-whitened clips, and if necessary, replace them with new ones.
- Push the clips and hooks into place securely.

Has the OP or anyone managed to remove a taillight lens on a GD, it's clearly removable but it would appear there is some kind of glue holding the lens down?
Heat gun to soften it or just needs a little prying?
